Society for Animation Studies (SAS)

The SAS is an international scholarly organization that was founded in the fall of 1987. At the end of 2008, it was registered as a A California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation. The SAS is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.


It is dedicated to study of animation in all its forms and has associates all around the world. The Society supports animation scholarship in a variety
of ways, including an annual conference, special exhibits, and a newsletter. The Newsletter includes news about SAS and its associates, festival and book reviews, news, commentary as well as an annual associates directory.

 

SAS has fees at the three levels (student/underemployed, regular, and institutional), for anyone wishing to receive the newsletter, attend the conference, be listed in the experts directory, remain on the discussion list, etc.
